AMERICAN ORDNANCE LLC Iowa Army Ammunition Plant The original American Ordnance project consisted of installing 72,000 feet of 144-strand single mode direct-buried fiber optic cable with only 5 end-to-end fusion splices. This linked 7 clusters of buildings together in a redundant loop. GPS coordinates were provided for cable routing. An aerial installation of 4,000 feet of 6-strand multi mode was used to connect the maintenance facilities. 67,600 feet of indoor multi mode fiber cable was installed in innerduct for backbones from the MDF to the IDF's in each manufacturing area. 516 single mode and 1,030 multi mode lines were terminated. Additional Category 5 cabling was installed in 8 buildings. Cabling projects are ongoing at this facility.
